We're the founders of the European Centre of Adventure Training (ECAT), a new training center focused on adventure tourism careers.
About Us
We've spent decades in outdoor education and guiding, with experience teaching adventure leadership in universities and schools across Canada, Europe, and Iceland. Through this work in diverse regions including Germany and Switzerland, we've witnessed how immersive outdoor experiences develop capable leaders. With careers facing uncertainty from AI and automation (as noted in Axios, May 28, 2025), adventure tourism, a field nearing 1.6 trillion dollars by 2026, offers a future proof path. We have pilot programs starting September 2025, with our full program launching September 2026.
In addition to our 9-month adventure guiding program, we also offer intensive training courses, corporate team building and experiences, and avalanche training.
The timing feels right. Traditional career paths are being disrupted, and young adults need viable alternatives. Adventure tourism provides exactly that: a growing industry where human skills remain irreplaceable.
